Request a certificate of insurance
Landlord, client, vendor portal or general contractor: tell me who needs the certificate and what they're asking for. If your policy already meets it, the certificate goes out the same business day, usually within the hour. If it needs an endorsement, I'll tell you what it takes and quote it.

What happens next
A certificate can only report what the policy contains; New York Insurance Law §502 bars certificates that say otherwise. So the first step is always a comparison.
I compare the requirement to your policy
Limits, additional insured wording, waiver of subrogation, primary and non-contributory, notice of cancellation. Most small-business policies I place carry blanket additional insured wording, which is what makes the same-day turnaround possible.
The certificate goes out, or the gap gets quoted
If the policy complies: the ACORD 25 with the endorsements attached, to the holder's certificate email and to you, the same business day. If not: what the endorsement costs and how long it takes, typically a day to a week, and I place it.
Workers' comp and disability are separate forms
Proof of workers' compensation goes on form C-105.2 and of DBL/PFL on DB-120.1, not on the certificate. If the holder asks for those, say so in the request and I'll issue them alongside. No employees? A CE-200 exemption from the Workers' Compensation Board is what they'll want instead.
There is never a fee for certificates on a policy placed through me, and I re-issue to every holder on file at each renewal. If you're not yet a client, send the request anyway with your current carrier's name; I'll tell you what your policy can and can't do and quote the alternative if it falls short.
