Auto, home and personal insurance

Your car, your house or apartment, the rental you own, the boat at the lake, and the liability that sits over all of it. Compared across carriers, explained plainly, and reviewed when your life changes. Each line has its own page with the New York specifics; this is the map.

In short

I'm a licensed New York property and casualty agent and broker (PC-1934647, BR-1934647) based in Clifton Park, comparing personal insurance across several carriers: auto, homeowners, renters, condo, landlord, personal umbrella, flood, and motorcycle, boat, RV and snowmobile policies. Bring your current declarations pages and I'll quote like for like, bundled and separate, and tell you when what you have is already right.

The lines

How I quote

  1. Like for like. Your current declarations pages set the baseline: same limits, same deductibles, same endorsements, across several carriers.
  2. Then the fixes. Where the current policy is thin (minimum auto limits, no water backup, an ACV roof), I show what the fix costs alongside.
  3. Bundled and separate. Both totals, so the discount doesn't hide a worse deal.
  4. A straight answer. If what you have is right, I'll say so.
Life and health

The other half of personal insurance

Life insurance, health coverage under 65, disability income and long-term care are on the life and health pages. Medicare has its own section.

What I need to quote

  1. Your current declarations pages, auto and home.
  2. Drivers and vehicles (VINs help).
  3. For the home: address, year built, updates, and any claims.

Common questions

Short answers to what people ask before they call.

What are New York's minimum auto insurance requirements?

Liability of $25,000 per person / $50,000 per accident for bodily injury and $10,000 property damage, plus $50,000 no-fault (PIP) and uninsured motorist cover. Those minimums are low; a single serious accident exceeds them. I typically recommend at least $100,000/$300,000 and often an umbrella.

Is bundling auto and home really cheaper?

Usually yes; multi-policy discounts of 10% to 25% are common, but not always the cheapest total. I quote bundled and separate and show you both.

How often should I re-shop my insurance?

Every two or three years, or whenever something changes: a new car, a new driver, a renovation, a move, a claim. Carriers reprice constantly and the one that was cheapest at 30 is rarely the cheapest at 50. A review takes fifteen minutes with your declarations pages.

Can you help with life and health insurance too?

Yes; those are on the life and health pages. I'm licensed for life, accident and health as well, and certified with NY State of Health.
