The Medicare carriers I represent in the Capital Region

People search by carrier name: 'CDPHP Medicare plans', 'does Albany Med take Humana', 'AARP Medigap rates Albany'. Here is a page for each of the eleven carriers I'm appointed with, built from the hospitals' own 2026 lists, the DFS premium comparison and the carriers' filings, with the compliance details New York requires when an agent names an insurer.

In short

Eleven carriers sell Medicare Advantage, Part D or Medigap in the Capital Region through my office: CDPHP and MVP (the two local plans), UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Humana, Wellcare, Anthem (formerly Empire), EmblemHealth, VNS Health, Trinity Health Plan New York (St. Peter's parent's plan) and Devoted Health. Each has a page with its legal name and home office, what it sells in New York, what Albany Med, St. Peter's and Ellis say about it in 2026, and its Medigap premiums where it files them. The carrier is never the decision; the plan's network, formulary and total cost are. I'm paid by the carrier you choose, not by you.

How to use these pages

Start from your doctors and hospital, not from a carrier. If your care is at Albany Med, the Humana and Wellcare pages tell you why those plans need a hard look; if it's all inside St. Peter's, the Trinity Health Plan page explains a plan built for exactly that; if you want a Medigap policy, the UnitedHealthcare (AARP), Aetna and EmblemHealth pages carry the lower Albany-region premiums. Then read the seven questions and ask for the comparison; it's free, and it's the same price whichever carrier you end up with.

I do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information I provide is limited to the plans I do offer in your area. Common questions

Short answers to what people ask before they call.

Which Medicare carrier should I choose in Albany?

No carrier wins as a category. CDPHP and MVP have the deepest local networks; UnitedHealthcare and Aetna have the lowest-priced Medigap in the DFS Albany comparison; Humana and Wellcare have hospital gaps here that matter; Trinity Health Plan is built for St. Peter's patients. The right carrier is the one whose specific plan includes your doctors and hospital, covers your prescriptions, and costs least over a year. That's a comparison, not a brand choice.

Why do you list the insurers' legal names and home offices?

New York Insurance Law §2122(b) requires that when a licensed agent or broker names an insurer in advertising, the full name of the insurer and the city of its home office appear. The names come from the Department of Financial Services' company directory and the carriers' own filings.

Do you represent every Medicare carrier?

No. I'm appointed with the eleven above, which covers most of what's sold in the four counties, but not every plan available in your area. If the plan that fits you is one I don't sell, I'll say so and point you to it; HIICAP (1-800-701-0501) covers every plan for free.
