MVP Health Care (MVP Health Plan, Inc.; home office Schenectady, New York) sells the following to New York Medicare beneficiaries: Medicare Advantage HMO, HMO-POS and PPO plans with Part D; Dual-eligible (D-SNP) plans. MVP's HMO-POS plans allow some out-of-network care; its HMOs don't. The plan type matters more than the carrier name. Who they are
Headquartered on State Street in Schenectady, MVP is the other home-grown insurer in the region and the one whose name is on the most Medicare Advantage cards in Schenectady County. It contracts with all three local hospital systems and sells HMO, HMO-POS and PPO Medicare plans across upstate New York and Vermont.
Plans are issued by MVP Health Plan, Inc., home office Schenectady, New York (625 State Street, Schenectady). Named here because New York Insurance Law §2122(b) requires a licensee who names an insurer to give its full name and home-office city.
