Medicare agent for Greenwich and Cambridge
Greenwich and Cambridge are the two villages of southern Washington County, and each has a Glens Falls Hospital practice of its own. Medicare choices here turn on three hospitals: Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital with its Schuylerville office, and, for some people, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
Where Greenwich and Cambridge residents get care
- Glens Falls Hospital's village practices. The Greenwich Medical Center at 1134 State Route 29 (518-692-9861) has primary care, geriatric medicine, blood draws and imaging on weekdays. The Cambridge Medical Center and Urgent Care at 35 Gilbert Street (518-677-3961) has primary care on weekdays and an urgent care open seven days. Both are Glens Falls Hospital practices; the hospital itself is at 100 Park Street in Glens Falls (518-926-1000), a member of the Albany Med Health System with a 24-hour Emergency Department.
- Saratoga Hospital, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs (518-587-3222), also in the Albany Med Health System, with a primary care office at 200 Broad Street in Schuylerville (518-695-3668). Being in the same system as Glens Falls Hospital does not mean the same insurance contracts, so I check Saratoga doctors separately.
- Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, 100 Hospital Drive, Bennington, Vermont — a member of Dartmouth Health that says it serves communities in Vermont, New York and Massachusetts. A Medicare Advantage plan sold in Washington County may not include out-of-state providers in its network, and SVMC's billing page says it does not have contracts with all insurance companies. If your doctors are in Bennington, that question comes first.
Original Medicare has no network, so with a Medigap policy every one of these, Vermont included, works as long as the provider accepts Medicare. With a Medicare Advantage HMO, out-of-network care is generally covered only for emergencies, out-of-area urgent care and temporary dialysis; a PPO usually lets you go out of network at a higher cost. The pages for Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital show which carriers each one lists, and the carriers for every Capital Region hospital are side by side on one page; I still check each hospital and doctor by name in the plan's directory.
What's particular about Greenwich and Cambridge
- Villages across town lines, one county list. The Village of Greenwich is partly in the Town of Easton, the Town of Cambridge holds only a portion of the Village of Cambridge, and the Town of White Creek's offices use a Cambridge address. None of that changes your plans: the 12834 and 12816 ZIP areas lie entirely in Washington County, which has 44 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027.
- The Hudson on one side, Saratoga County beyond it. The Town of Greenwich is bounded on the west by the Hudson. Schuylerville, where Saratoga Hospital has its primary care office, is in Saratoga County, with its own list of 52 plans. Using a doctor there is fine as long as that doctor is in your Washington County plan's network; moving there changes the list, and a move to an address outside your plan's service area, or to one with new plan options, opens a Special Enrollment Period that runs for two full months after the move.
- Medigap is priced like Albany. New York's Department of Financial Services compares Medigap premiums by region, and its Albany region covers ZIP codes starting 120–123 and 128–129, which takes in Greenwich (12834) and Cambridge (12816). In New York you can buy or switch Medigap in any month without health questions; the current premiums for the region are on their own page.
- Retiree and employer coverage first. State, county, school district and hospital retirees, and people still working at 65, have coverage that coordinates with Medicare in its own way. Whether an individual plan adds to it or cancels it comes before any comparison; NYSHIP retirees and Medicare while working past 65 cover the two most common cases.
Aging In Community, the Cambridge dining site and the county Office for the Aging
In Greenwich, the town's Aging In Community program at 2 Academy Street, (518) 692-7611 ext. 109, runs caregiver support conversations at the Greenwich Free Library. In Cambridge, the county's senior dining site at 5 Park Place, (518) 677-8592, serves lunch on weekdays to those who reserve the day before. For rides to medical appointments, residents 60 and over who are not on Medicaid and have no other transportation can register with L.E.A.P. (518-746-2390) through the county's partnership. Free Medicare counselling is through the Washington County Office for the Aging & Disability Resource Center, Municipal Center, 383 Broadway, Building B, Fort Edward, (518) 746-2420, weekdays 8:30 to 4:30; its NY Connects Information Specialists are certified in HIICAP and screen for the Medicare Savings Program, Extra Help and EPIC. The HIICAP page has every county office. Statewide HIICAP line: 1-800-701-0501. The Glens Falls Social Security Office is at 67 Warren Street, Suite 1, Glens Falls, NY 12801 (1-877-405-4875); Medicare Part A and B enrollment and Extra Help applications go through it.

Meeting in Greenwich and Cambridge
My office is in Clifton Park, off Northway Exit 9. I come to Greenwich, Cambridge, Easton and White Creek clients at home, or we talk by phone, WhatsApp or video. A first call takes about fifteen minutes: your ZIP code, your doctors and which state they're in, your prescriptions, and any retiree, VA or Medicaid coverage. Nothing is decided on a first call.
What a Greenwich and Cambridge plan review covers
- Every doctor you see, checked against each plan's current directory: the Greenwich or Cambridge Medical Center and Glens Falls Hospital, any Saratoga Hospital doctors, and any Vermont providers.
- Prescriptions priced through each plan's formulary for the full year, at the pharmacy you actually use.
- Retiree, VA or Medicaid coverage and exactly how each option would interact with it, plus a screening for the Medicare Savings Program and Extra Help.
- A written comparison with total yearly cost, and a plain statement of whether your current coverage should be left alone.
No fee for Medicare plan help. Request a review, or read the wider Medicare page for all of Washington County. Nearby: Hudson Falls and Fort Edward and Saratoga Springs.

Common questions
Short answers to what people ask before they call.
Still have a question? Call (518) 902-8822 or book a call.
My doctor is at the Greenwich or Cambridge Medical Center. Which plans include it?
Both are Glens Falls Hospital practices in the Albany Med Health System, which publishes an accepted-insurance list of carriers, not plans. A carrier on that list does not mean every plan from that carrier is in network, so I check the practice, your own provider and Glens Falls Hospital by name in the plan's directory for the year. The Glens Falls Hospital page places every plan sold in Washington County against the hospital's list.
I see doctors at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Can a New York plan cover them?
Original Medicare with a Medigap policy covers any provider in the country that accepts Medicare, Vermont included. A Medicare Advantage plan sold in Washington County may not include out-of-state providers in its network: an HMO generally covers out-of-network care only for emergencies, out-of-area urgent care and temporary out-of-area dialysis, and a PPO generally lets you go out of network at a higher cost. SVMC's own billing page says it does not have contracts with all insurance companies. I check each Vermont doctor and the hospital by name in the plan's directory before you enroll.
I live in Easton or White Creek but my mail says Greenwich or Cambridge. Which plans can I get?
Washington County's. The Village of Greenwich is partly in the Town of Greenwich and partly in the Town of Easton, and the Town of White Creek's own offices use a Cambridge 12816 address. All of these are in Washington County, and the Census Bureau's ZIP-to-county file puts all of the land in the 12834 and 12816 ZIP areas there, so every Greenwich and Cambridge address sees the same Washington County plan list.
Where is free Medicare counselling for Greenwich and Cambridge?
The Washington County Office for the Aging & Disability Resource Center at the Municipal Center, 383 Broadway, Building B, in Fort Edward (518-746-2420), weekdays 8:30 to 4:30. Its NY Connects Information Specialists are certified in HIICAP, New York's free Medicare counselling program, and screen for the Medicare Savings Program, Extra Help and EPIC. I enroll you in the plans I'm appointed with and stay your contact afterwards; HIICAP is the second opinion I recommend to anyone who wants one.
Do you meet clients in Greenwich and Cambridge?
Yes. My office is in Clifton Park, off Northway Exit 9, and I come to you at home in Greenwich, Cambridge, Easton or White Creek. A first conversation can be by phone or WhatsApp, and full reviews work well by video when that's easier.
