Medicare agent for Glens Falls
Glens Falls is the city and Queensbury is the town around it, and between them they have the region's hospital and several Hudson Headwaters health centers. Medicare choices here usually come down to two checks: whether a plan includes Glens Falls Hospital, and whether it includes your Hudson Headwaters health center and doctor by name.
Where Glens Falls and Queensbury residents get care
- Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park Street — the region's hospital, a member of the Albany Med Health System, with the C.R. Wood Cancer Center and the Sheridan Emergency Department on the same campus. This is the first network question to check; the Glens Falls Hospital page places every plan sold in Warren County against the hospital's own list.
- Hudson Headwaters Health Network — a nonprofit community health center network with health centers in the city, including Broad Street, and in Queensbury, including West Mountain on Carey Road. If your primary care is here, note that its insurance page names carriers, not individual Medicare Advantage plans, so the plan's own directory is the final check.
- Specialists further south. Saratoga Hospital and Albany Medical Center are in the same health system as Glens Falls Hospital, but being in the same system does not guarantee the same insurance contracts. If you see a cardiologist or oncologist in Saratoga Springs or Albany, I check that office separately.
Original Medicare has no network, so with a Medigap policy every one of these works as long as the provider accepts Medicare. With Medicare Advantage, the hospital, the health center and each specialist all have to be in the specific plan's directory for the year. The carriers each Capital Region hospital lists are on one page.
What's particular about Glens Falls and Queensbury
- One county list for the city and the town. Glens Falls and Queensbury are both in Warren County, so they share one Medicare Advantage list: 45 plans for 2027. A Queensbury address and a Glens Falls address see the same plans.
- The river is a county line. South Glens Falls, across the Hudson, is in Saratoga County, which has its own list (52 plans for 2027); Hudson Falls, to the east, is in Washington County. Neighbors who use the same hospital can be choosing from different plans, and a move across the river can change which plans you can keep. A move to an address outside your plan's service area, or to one with new plan options, opens a Special Enrollment Period.
- Retiree coverage first. State, county, school district and hospital retirees often have retiree health coverage that coordinates with Medicare in its own way, and joining an outside plan can disrupt it. That question comes before premiums or extras; NYSHIP retirees have their own rules, and the paperwork to bring settles most of it.
- Medigap is priced like Albany. New York's Department of Financial Services sets Medigap comparisons by region, and its Albany region covers ZIP codes starting 120–123 and 128–129, which takes in Glens Falls, Queensbury and Lake George. In New York you can buy or switch Medigap in any month without health questions; the current premiums for the region are on their own page.
- Winters away. If you spend part of the year somewhere warmer, check how a plan handles routine care away from home. An HMO generally covers care outside its network only for emergencies, urgent care away from home and temporary out-of-area dialysis; a PPO may cover out-of-network providers, usually at a higher cost. Original Medicare with Medigap works with any provider in the country that accepts Medicare.

Do Medicare Advantage plans in Glens Falls include Glens Falls Hospital?
Glens Falls Hospital is a member of the Albany Med Health System and follows the system's accepted-insurance list. That list names carriers, not plans, so a carrier on it still doesn't guarantee a specific plan. I check the hospital and each of your doctors by name in the plan's own directory, and the Glens Falls Hospital page places every plan sold in Warren County against the hospital's list.
My doctor is at Hudson Headwaters. Which plans does it take?
Hudson Headwaters Health Network's insurance page, read October 21, 2026, lists Medicare and these carriers among its participating plans: Aetna, Anthem, CDPHP, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Fidelis Care, Highmark Northeastern New York, MVP, UnitedHealthcare and Wellcare, with Humana limited to Medicare plans and Emblem Health marked as not Medicare. It names carriers, not individual Medicare Advantage plans, and says to call the carrier if yours isn't listed. Before you enroll, I check your health center and provider by name in the specific plan's directory.
I live in South Glens Falls. Is my plan list the same as Glens Falls?
No. South Glens Falls is across the Hudson in Saratoga County, and Medicare Advantage plans are filed by county, so it has Saratoga County's plan list while Glens Falls and Queensbury have Warren County's. You can use the same hospital and the same doctors and still see different plans. If you move across the river in either direction, a move to an address outside your plan's service area, or to one with new plan options, opens a Special Enrollment Period that runs for two full months after the move.
Where is free Medicare counselling near Glens Falls?
The Warren/Hamilton Counties Office for the Aging runs HIICAP, New York's free and unbiased Medicare counselling program, from the Human Services Building on State Route 9 in Lake George. It covers every plan and sells nothing. I enroll you in the plans I'm appointed with and stay your contact afterwards; HIICAP is the second opinion I recommend to anyone who wants one.
Do you meet clients in Glens Falls and Queensbury?
Yes. My office is in Clifton Park, off Northway Exit 9, and I come up the Northway to meet people at home in Glens Falls, Queensbury, Lake George and South Glens Falls. A first conversation can be by phone or WhatsApp, and full reviews work well by video when that's easier.
