Medicare agent for Corinth

Corinth, village and town, sits on the upper Hudson in the foothills of the Adirondacks, in northern Saratoga County. The primary care practice on Palmer Avenue belongs to Glens Falls Hospital, while the plans people here choose from are Saratoga County's, so the first thing I check is whether a plan's directory includes the doctors and hospital you actually use.

Where Corinth residents get care

  • Evergreen Medical Center, 13 Palmer Avenue (518-654-6499) — Glens Falls Hospital's practice in Corinth, with primary care, family medicine, lymphedema care and outpatient physical and occupational therapy, open Monday to Thursday 7:30 to 4:30 and Friday 7:30 to 3.
  • Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park Street, Glens Falls (518-926-1000) — the hospital behind it, a member of the Albany Med Health System, which describes itself as serving Warren, Washington, Essex, Hamilton and northern Saratoga counties. It is in Warren County, so its page lists the Warren and Washington County plans; for a Saratoga County plan I check it by name in the plan's directory.
  • Saratoga Hospital, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs (518-587-3222) — also part of the Albany Med Health System. The Saratoga Hospital page places every plan sold in Saratoga County against the hospital's own carrier list.
  • Albany specialists. Some care means Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Avenue (518-262-3125), which has its own carrier list.

Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital belong to one system, but a plan can list the system and still leave out a particular practice. With a Medicare Advantage plan, Evergreen Medical Center, the hospital you would be admitted to and each doctor all have to be in that plan's directory for the year. Original Medicare with a Medigap policy has no network, so any provider that accepts Medicare works. Which carriers each Capital Region hospital lists is on one page.

What's particular about Corinth

  • Local practice from Glens Falls, plan list from Saratoga County. The 12822 ZIP area lies entirely in Saratoga County, so every Corinth address, in the village or the town, chooses from the same list: 52 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027. The practice on Palmer Avenue and the hospital it belongs to are Glens Falls Hospital's, and that hospital sits in Warren County, so its contracts are checked against Saratoga County plans one by one.
  • Senior center rides go both ways. The Town of Corinth's Senior Center offers Corinth residents rides to medical appointments, and shopping trips three times a month to Saratoga Springs or Glens Falls. If that is how you reach the doctor, a plan's network has to include doctors in the direction you actually go.
  • Warren County across the Hudson. North of Corinth, the Town of Hadley's own site places Lake Luzerne across the Hudson in Warren County, which has its own list of 45 plans. A move there changes the list, and a move out of your plan's service area, or to an address with new plan options, opens a Special Enrollment Period that runs for two full months after the move.
  • Medigap is priced like Albany. New York's Department of Financial Services compares Medigap premiums by region, and its Albany region covers ZIP codes starting 120–123 and 128–129, which takes in Corinth (12822). In New York you can buy or switch Medigap in any month without health questions; the current premiums for the region are on their own page.
  • Retiree and employer coverage first. State, school district and hospital retirees, and people still working at 65, have coverage that coordinates with Medicare in its own way. Whether an individual plan adds to it or cancels it comes before any comparison; NYSHIP retirees and Medicare while working past 65 cover the two most common cases.

Corinth Senior Center and the county Office for the Aging

The Town of Corinth's Senior Center at 22 Hamilton Avenue (518-654-2040) is a county Gather & Dine site, with lunch at noon on weekdays for those who reserve by noon the day before and meals delivered to residents who can't come in. It also holds blood pressure clinics, flu shots and health screenings, arranges rides, and helps with applications and insurance forms. Corinth Town Hall is at 600 Palmer Avenue (518-654-9232) and the village office at 244 Main Street (518-654-2012). Free, unbiased Medicare counselling is through the Saratoga County Office for the Aging, part of the county's Department of Aging and Youth Services at 152 West High Street in Ballston Spa (518-884-4100), which runs HIICAP by phone or in person with a scheduled appointment and can screen you for the Medicare Savings Program and EPIC; the HIICAP page has every county office. Meeting in Corinth

My office is in Clifton Park, a drive down the Northway at Exit 9. I come up to meet Corinth clients at home, in the village or anywhere in the town, or we talk by phone, WhatsApp or video. A first call takes about fifteen minutes: your ZIP code, your doctors and whether they're in Corinth, Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs or Albany, your prescriptions, and any retiree, VA or Medicaid coverage. Nothing is decided on a first call.

What a Corinth plan review covers

  1. Every doctor you see, checked against each plan's current directory: Evergreen Medical Center and Glens Falls Hospital, any Saratoga Hospital doctors, and any specialists in Albany.
  2. Prescriptions priced through each plan's formulary for the full year, at the pharmacy you actually use.
  3. Retiree, VA or Medicaid coverage and exactly how each option would interact with it, plus a screening for the Medicare Savings Program and Extra Help.
  4. A written comparison with total yearly cost, and a plain statement of whether your current coverage should be left alone.

No fee for Medicare plan help. Request a review, or read the wider Medicare page for all of Saratoga County. Nearby: Wilton and Gansevoort, Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls and Queensbury.

My doctor is at Evergreen Medical Center on Palmer Avenue. Which plans include it?

Evergreen Medical Center at 13 Palmer Avenue is a Glens Falls Hospital practice in the Albany Med Health System, with primary care, family medicine and outpatient physical and occupational therapy. The system publishes a list of accepted carriers, not plans, and a carrier on the list does not mean every plan from that carrier is in network. I check the practice, your own doctor and Glens Falls Hospital by name in each Saratoga County plan's directory for the year.

My doctors are in Glens Falls but I live in Corinth. Which plans can I get?

Saratoga County's. Medicare Advantage plans are filed by the county you live in, and the Census Bureau's ZIP-to-county file puts all of the land in Corinth's 12822 ZIP area in Saratoga County. Glens Falls Hospital is in Warren County, so its page on this site lists the Warren and Washington County plans; for a Saratoga County plan I check the hospital and each of your doctors by name in the plan's directory. With Original Medicare and a Medigap policy there is no network to check.

I get rides to the doctor from the Corinth Senior Center. Does that matter for my plan?

It can. The Town of Corinth's Senior Center offers Corinth residents rides to medical appointments, and shopping trips three times a month to Saratoga Springs or Glens Falls. If that is how you get to appointments, the doctors you can reach have to be in your plan's directory for the year, in whichever direction they are. I check each one by name before you enroll.

Where is free Medicare counselling for Corinth?

The Saratoga County Office for the Aging at 152 West High Street in Ballston Spa (518-884-4100) runs HIICAP, New York's free and unbiased Medicare counselling, by phone or in person with a scheduled appointment. The Corinth Senior Center (518-654-2040) also helps with applications and insurance forms. I enroll you in the plans I'm appointed with and stay your contact afterwards; HIICAP is the second opinion I recommend to anyone who wants one.

Do you meet Corinth clients in person?

Yes. My office is in Clifton Park, off Northway Exit 9, and I come to you at home in the Village or Town of Corinth. A first conversation can be by phone or WhatsApp, and full reviews work well by video when that's easier.
