Medicare agent for Schuylerville
Schuylerville sits on the Hudson in the Town of Saratoga, with the Village of Victory in the same town and Washington County across the river. Saratoga Hospital has a primary care office on Broad Street, so the first question for most Medicare plans here is whether that office and the hospital behind it are in the plan's directory.
Where Schuylerville residents get care
- Primary Care Schuylerville, 200 Broad Street (518-695-3668) — a Saratoga Hospital practice with primary care, family medicine and blood draws, open Monday to Thursday 8 to 5 and Friday 8 to 4:30.
- Saratoga Hospital, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs (518-587-3222) — the hospital behind it, part of the Albany Med Health System. The Saratoga Hospital page places every plan sold in Saratoga County against the hospital's own carrier list.
- Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park Street, Glens Falls (518-926-1000) — also an Albany Med Health System member, which describes itself as serving Warren, Washington, Essex, Hamilton and northern Saratoga counties. It is in Warren County, so its page lists the Warren and Washington County plans; for a Saratoga County plan I check it by name in the plan's directory.
- Albany specialists. Cardiology, oncology and surgery can mean Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Avenue (518-262-3125), or St. Peter's Hospital, 315 South Manning Boulevard (518-525-1550), and each contracts with carriers separately.
Saratoga Hospital and Glens Falls Hospital belong to one system, but a plan can list the system and still leave out a particular practice. With a Medicare Advantage plan, the Broad Street office, the hospital and each doctor all have to be in that plan's directory for the year. Original Medicare with a Medigap policy has no network, so any provider that accepts Medicare works. Which carriers each Capital Region hospital lists is on one page.
What's particular about Schuylerville
- Two villages, one town, one plan list. The Villages of Schuylerville and Victory are both inside the Town of Saratoga, along with the hamlets of Coveville, Quaker Springs, Grangerville and Deans Corners, and the 12871 ZIP area lies entirely in Saratoga County. Every address here chooses from the same list: 52 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027.
- The Hudson is the county line. The Town of Saratoga is bounded by the Hudson on the east, and the Town of Greenwich, bounded on the west by the same river, is in Washington County, with its own list of 44 plans. Seeing a doctor across the river is fine as long as that doctor is in your Saratoga County plan's network; moving there changes the list, and a move out of your plan's service area, or to an address with new plan options, opens a Special Enrollment Period that runs for two full months after the move.
- No county meal site in town. The county's Gather & Dine list has eight sites and none in the Town of Saratoga. The county's contribution-based rides for residents 60 and over do cover medical appointments and grocery shopping; the Office for the Aging at 518-884-4100 can tell you what runs from your address.
- Medigap is priced like Albany. New York's Department of Financial Services compares Medigap premiums by region, and its Albany region covers ZIP codes starting 120–123 and 128–129, which takes in Schuylerville (12871). In New York you can buy or switch Medigap in any month without health questions; the current premiums for the region are on their own page.
- Retiree and employer coverage first. State, school district and hospital retirees, and people still working at 65, have coverage that coordinates with Medicare in its own way. Whether an individual plan adds to it or cancels it comes before any comparison; NYSHIP retirees and Medicare while working past 65 cover the two most common cases.
Old Saratoga Seniors, the village and the county Office for the Aging
The Old Saratoga Seniors meet at noon at the Town of Saratoga Town Hall, 12 Spring Street, on the first and third Wednesdays from September to May. The Village of Schuylerville's Senior Citizens Resources page lists the Saratoga Seniors' tai chi, line dancing, walking group and trips; the village office is at 35 Spring Street (518-695-3881). Free, unbiased Medicare counselling is through the Saratoga County Office for the Aging, part of the county's Department of Aging and Youth Services at 152 West High Street in Ballston Spa (518-884-4100), which runs HIICAP by phone or in person with a scheduled appointment and can screen you for the Medicare Savings Program and EPIC; the HIICAP page has every county office. Statewide HIICAP line: 1-800-701-0501.

Nothing is decided on a first call.
What a Schuylerville plan review covers
- Every doctor you see, checked against each plan's current directory: the Broad Street office and Saratoga Hospital, Glens Falls Hospital if you use it, and any specialists in Albany or across the river.
- Prescriptions priced through each plan's formulary for the full year, at the pharmacy you actually use.
- Retiree, VA or Medicaid coverage and exactly how each option would interact with it, plus a screening for the Medicare Savings Program and Extra Help.

My doctor is at Saratoga Hospital's office on Broad Street. Which plans include it?
Primary Care Schuylerville at 200 Broad Street is a Saratoga Hospital practice in the Albany Med Health System. The system publishes a list of accepted carriers, not plans, and a carrier on the list does not mean every plan from that carrier is in network. I check the office, your own doctor and Saratoga Hospital by name in each plan's directory for the year. The Saratoga Hospital page places every plan sold in Saratoga County against the hospital's list.
I live in Victory or Quaker Springs and my mail says Schuylerville. Which plans can I get?
Saratoga County's. The Villages of Schuylerville and Victory and the hamlets of Coveville, Quaker Springs, Grangerville and Deans Corners are all in the Town of Saratoga, in Saratoga County. The Census Bureau's ZIP-to-county file puts all of the land in the 12871 ZIP area in Saratoga County, so every Schuylerville address sees the same plan list.
My doctors are across the river in Greenwich, or up in Glens Falls. Can a Saratoga County plan cover them?
It can if they are in the plan's network. You choose from Saratoga County's plans because of where you live, not where your doctors are. Glens Falls Hospital is in the Albany Med Health System like Saratoga Hospital, but being in the same system does not mean the same contracts, and its page on this site lists the Warren and Washington County plans. For a Saratoga County plan I check the hospital and each doctor by name in the plan's directory. With Original Medicare and a Medigap policy there is no network to check.
Where is free Medicare counselling for Schuylerville?
The Saratoga County Office for the Aging at 152 West High Street in Ballston Spa (518-884-4100) runs HIICAP, New York's free and unbiased Medicare counselling, by phone or in person with a scheduled appointment. I enroll you in the plans I'm appointed with and stay your contact afterwards; HIICAP is the second opinion I recommend to anyone who wants one.
Do you meet Schuylerville clients in person?
Yes. My office is in Clifton Park, off Northway Exit 9, and I come to you at home in Schuylerville, Victory or anywhere in the Town of Saratoga. A first conversation can be by phone or WhatsApp, and full reviews work well by video when that's easier.
